As far as seasons go, fall is definitely the best in my opinion. Fall fashion, fall food (thanksgiving, anyone?) and fall beauty. My favorite fall beauty trend is matte lipstick. Whether in liquid form or straight from the tube, matte lipsticks are the perfect way to complete any fall makeup look. If you plan on wearing matte lipsticks this fall, be sure to exfoliate and moisturize your lips beforehand. Matte lipsticks look best on a smooth surface. Here are my go-to fall matte lip colors.
KAT VON D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick
Lolita II
For an everyday makeup look, I stick to nude color lipstick. Kat Von D’s Lolita II liquid lipstick is the first thing I grab when I want a nude matte. To achieve the desired look, I line my lips with MAC’s Chestnut lip liner and then use Lolita II to fill in.
Damned
Damned is by far my favorite fall lip color. I waited three weeks and traveled to four different Sephora stores just to get my hands on it. Who doesn’t love a dark vampy lipstick for those days you’re feeling like a rebel without a cause? This lipstick is so pigmented that just one coat will do the trick. Of course, you don’t have to stop there 😉
Colourpop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick
LAX
Colourpop describes LAX as a vampy blackened red. Whenever I wear this lipstick I instantly feel a thousand times more sophisticated. Pair LAX with a brown and gold eyeshadow for a festive Thanksgiving makeup look.
LYCHEE
No matter what season it is your makeup kit should include “NOS.” No, not the turbo booster from Fast and Furious (anyone else still waiting for Fast 8?). By NOS I am referring to a “Night Out Shade.” This is any lipstick color that goes a step above your typical nude or red lip. Nights out my girls mean I can try all the bold eyeshadow and lipstick colors that wouldn’t be appropriate for the workplace. Lychee is a great NOS option. The warm violet color is really bold and flatters all skin tones. Here I’ve combined it with MAC’s Vino lip liner to create a fun ombre lip.
MAC Retro Matte
RUBY WOO
Fall would not be complete without a red lip. Ruby Woo is my tried and true red lipstick. Just like your best friend who complains about her boyfriend and goes right back to him the next day, no matter how much I try to branch out and experiment I always come back to my Ruby. With this on my lips and winged eyeliner so clean that it could cut someone, I feel like I can take over the world! Or at least get to work on time.
