Blazers are one of my favorite clothing pieces to show off my personal style. With so many options, its easy to find a good one that fits your aesthetic. I first started exploring the world of blazers in college when I landed my first internship. The office dress code was business casual which fit right in with my jeans and t-shirt college uniform. I found that just by throwing on a nice blazer and the right shoes, I could go from looking like a broke college student to a corporate badass in no time.
But how do you figure out which blazer style is best for you? I’ve rounded up the 3 types of blazers every woman should have in her closet. These 3 different styles will help you get the most versatility from your wardrobe and help you dress for a bunch of different occasions.
Oversized (or Men’s) Blazers
Oversized blazers are my favorite way to upgrade a basic outfit. If I’m going to brunch, I generally pair a crop top and jeans with an oversized blazer (like this one) to look like I tried even when I really didn’t. You can find oversized blazers anywhere. I like to shop at thrift stores in the men’s section for my oversized blazers. Go to your local thrift store or borrow one from your dad or boyfriend.

Patterned blazers are essential if you want to bring some life to your work attire. They may seem tricky at first but trust me they’re easy ways to look effortlessly cool. Pair your patterned blazer with a solid top in a color that compliments the colors of the pattern.

The tuxedo blazer is in my opinion one of the most essential blazers that a woman should own! This blazer solves so many styling problems. Date night coming up? Wear it with a lacy bralette under for a sexy vibe. Need to attend a gala or special occasion? Skip the dress that you know every woman will be wearing and turn heads in a tuxedo blazer and matching tailored pants. I love when I see women wearing blazers on the red carpet. It’s a refreshing change from the typical floor length gowns we see during the Hollywood award season.
