2020 has come and gone and I know we are all glad about it. The last year was a journey to say the least. Navigating everything 2020 threw at us was a full time job but by God’s grace we can say we made it. Even in the midst of it all, we were able to find moments and new routines to bring us comfort. After moving into my first apartment during the pandemic, I taught myself to invest in things that would bring me joy. These products turned out to be some of the best purchases I made in 2020 and today I want to share them with you. My 2020 favorites include home, beauty and tech items that will hopefully make your life a bit more joyful in 2021 and beyond.
Home
Like many of you I went into 2020 claiming it to be my year! I planned to finally push myself outside of my homebody comfort zone and truly make an effort to visit new places and meet new people. Well of course Ms. Rona scrapped all that BUT in doing so she helped me learn the importance of making my home a true place of rest. Many of the home products I purchased in 2020 helped me achieve that zen/luxury home vibe I was going for including this bathtub tray and these super soft throw blankets. Even these flameless candles gave my bathroom a spa like feel. I say we keep at home luxury a thing throughout 2021.
Beauty
Now when it came to 2020 beauty, simplicity and comfort were the name of the game. Spending so much time at home let me really hone in my skincare routine and test new products. My favorite finds were this nighttime skin repairing cream and this sunscreen/makeup primer duo. For a period of time nail salons were shut down in Los Angeles so I kept my nails right with these uh-mazing press on nails. I was already a member of the press on gang, but these particular styles were so luxe and on trend that I was happy they were available at such an affordable price. And of course, I couldn’t have my ultra luxe at home spa nights without a nice bubble bath like this one to set the mood.
Tech
2020 happened to be one of the best years yet for my business. I finally landed 1,000 subscribers on Youtube and started working with brands. This didn’t happen out of nowhere though. Early in the pandemic I invested in new tech products to help me elevate my content. I started vlogging more consistently after purchasing this amazing Canon camera. More content meant more storage space needed on my computer so I invested in what I’m calling the best external hard drive I’ve ever used! Seriously this bad boy can hold so much content. I’ve had it almost a year and still haven’t come even close to filling it up.
