Creating quality content consistently is a full time job. Behind the dopest Instagram pics and TikTok videos is a crazy amount of hours. It takes around 2-3 hours for me to produce a single IG post. That’s shooting the photos, editing them and then copywriting my caption. When you consider the fact that I post at minimum once a day, that’s a lot of man hours spent on just social media content. Don’t even get me started on the process for creating Youtube videos or blog posts.
While creating content can be time consuming, there’s luckily a bunch of apps that allow me to create content on the go. These apps allow me to edit pictures, create mini vlogs for my IG stories and Tiktok and even create thumbnails for my Youtube videos. Here are my 7 favorite apps for creating content.
ADOBE LIGHTROOM
Lightroom is the king of photo editing apps. A simpler program to use than Photoshop, Lightroom allows you to color correct your photos, add presets, remove unwanted objects and fix blemishes. There is a desktop version but I find the mobile one just so convenient to use. I edit all of my Instagram and blog pictures with the Lightroom mobile app. Check out the images below to see a sample before and after using the Lightroom app.
InSHOT
If Lightroom is the king of photo editing, then InShot is the king of video editing. Listen y’all Inshot is really that girl okay! I love this app and cannot recommend it to content creators enough. If you produce a lot of video content, you need this app. Inshot is perfect for creating any style of video you want. They have so many different options for transitions, effects and even have royalty music options available right in the app. No need to go scouring Soundcloud for music. You can add text & change the speed of clips. I’m still discovering cool things to do with Inshot! I created this IGTV video using the Inshot app.
MOJO
Want to take your IG stories to the next level? Then Mojo is your go to. This app has tons of templates to make your IG stories stand out. Each template features interactive title cards and other elements to make your content more dynamic. Want a Youtube hack? If you pay for the Pro subscription, Mojo allows you to change the dimensions of your template. Change your dimensions to 16:9, drop a video clip in and boom! You have a cool new video clip with graphics to add to your Youtube video. Below is my current Youtube intro that I made using the Mojo app.
PICSART
Picsart is a photo editing app that allows you to create collages, add stickers and more. I use this app to create my Youtube thumbnails.
FACETUNE
Everybody knows about good ole Facetune. Facetune gets a bad rap but it’s a great editing tool if used correctly. I use the Facetune details feature to intensify my eyeshadow in photos and use the patch tool to remove unwanted objects. You can also use the whiten tool to brighten up blank walls in your backgrounds.
FEED PREVIEW
This app isn’t necessarily for creating content but it’s a great app to use to plan out your Instagram grid. I love using Feed Preview to plan out how I want my photos to look once I upload. Curating a feed that allows your eyes to flow over content easily is a great way to boost your IG aesthetic.
LATER
Later is a game changing app if you are looking to schedule your social media posts to auto publish. I have a 9-5 job so I don’t have time to post on social media in real time. Later allows me to schedule posts to go live on all my social media platforms. You can even track your analytics and see how well your content performs. Highly recommended to boost your productivity.
There are a ton of apps out there that are meant to help you. This list is definitely not all of them. I just wanted to share my favorite apps for creating content. If you have an app for content creation that you love, share it in the comments! And check out this post on the content creation equipment I use if you are interested in my tech.
See you next time!
